Making it on Broadway

Austin Children’s Theater is holding auditions for ages 13 – 18 for the Making it on Broadway camp on an ongoing basis.

Direct from New York City and taught by Broadway veterans, Making it on Broadway offers intensive, professional instruction in acting, voice, song selection, and audition techniques. Camp dates are July 21-23. Austin Children’s Theater is the only location in Texas and only one of five in the nation to provide this unique theatrical opportunity.

Making it on Broadway instructors are Jodie Langel and Jose Llana. Langel has starred in many Broadway productions, including Les Miserables and CATS. Langel was awarded “Best National Anthem Singer of 2007” by the Mets and is the author of the best selling book Making it on Broadway. Jose Llana has been on the Broadway scene since 1996, starting with the King and I. He has starred in the Pulitzer Prize-winning Rent as well as the award winning The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Jose is a founding member of Asian Americans on Broadway, an organization that presents concert events across the country starring some of Broadway’s most prominent Asian American actors.

Students who wish to audition must please call 512- 927-6633 to schedule an interview. Space is limited and we expect the camp to fill up fast.

Only 30 students will be accepted, ages 13-18.

Open auditions for the camp!

This camp is tuition based. Once the student has completed the audition and is selected to participate, the 1st of two payments will be due. The second is due a week before camp begins. The total fee for this three day camp is $350.
