Things to know about Specialty Camps:

• Specialty range from 1 to 3 week sessions
• Age range is based on individual camps
• Taught by industry professionals
• Refines technique for the performer
• Concentrate on specific areas of theater
• All camps culminate with a final performance(s)
• No more than 15:1 student to teacher ratio

• Tuition varies with each camp

Broadway Bound

July 18-29

Oh MAMMA MIA, in this WICKED awesome camp ANYTHING GOES! “We’ve got magic to do!” and we need you! In this “masquerade, every face is on parade!” So many Broadway musicals… so many stories of stardom! Explore many well-known Broadway musicals and discover your own Broadway Bound story in this fast paced and fun two week specialty camp. Work with professional theatrical writers, composers, directors, choreographers, music coaches and technical staff to create and perform a brand new original mini musical.

Camp is from 9am to 5pm, Monday through Friday with a performance on the last Friday at 4pm for friends and family.

Star of the Screen

• Learn the differences between stage acting and film acting
• Learn how to create and develop characters
• Understand plot structure through creating stories and scenes
• Work on playable action and movement
• Create TV programs and film productions
• Receive a DVD copy of your final production

Wanna Be Glee

Comedy Improvisation

• Learn the art of comedy Improve
• Familiarizes students with the fundamentals of improvisation
• Understand the vocabulary of long form improvisation
• Learn specific skills to make the most fun and interesting choices on stage
• This Camp is located at The New Movement, which is across the street from Kealing Middle School!

Teen Riot!

ACT has once again teamed up with The New Movement Theater to bring great comedy to the youth of Austin.
Our improv classes train our students to make the smartest, strongest and funniest choices on stage. By focusing on the information at the beginning of scenes, our students create an improv road map within their first few moments on stage. We teach “long-form” improv comedy, which focuses on scene work and group mind. Our work is inspired by the founder of modern improv Del Close but we proudly teach a syllabus unique to TNM.
